Details

Ruby bindings should not be installed in site-lib; that's system administrators, they should be installed in the vendor directory:

ruby extconf.rb --vendor

Actually it seems it's in installed in the right location, but by modifying the Makefile instead of passing the right arguments to extconf.rb.
