Details

Currently, mpd can only be started by systemd on a system-wide basis. This patch adds a symlink that registers mpd.service as working both system-wide and per-user.

Since the service file is shipped and installed with mpd itself, could you ask upstream to also create the link in /usr/lib/systemd/user?

My patch might be incorrect. systemd complains about a missing file when I use a symlink, but not if the file is copied.

I've implemented this in our SVN for mpd's PKGBUILD. It will be shipped with the next release.
