DetailsSounds similar to #35374.
Was able to perform the operation normally using parted. Forgive me, but don't have time to look into this in any more detail now. Just reporting it for completeness sake. Will try in next util-linux when available. Can run it with ptrace if you like, but more than that I cannot offer to do right now, sorry. --------- EXAMPLE --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HUH#> fdisk /dev/sda [ chatter snipped ] Command (m for help): p Disk /dev/sda: 120.0 GB, 120034123776 bytes, 234441648 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk label type: dos Disk identifier: 0x000963e6 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 2048 206847 102400 83 Linux /dev/sda2 210000 16988159 8389080 83 Linux /dev/sda4 25400000 234441647 104520824 5 Extended /dev/sda5 25500000 26523647 511824 b W95 FAT32 /dev/sda6 26600000 43376639 8388320 83 Linux /dev/sda7 43400000 51787775 4193888 83 Linux /dev/sda8 51800000 60188671 4194336 83 Linux /dev/sda9 60200000 68589567 4194784 83 Linux /dev/sda10 68600000 76988415 4194208 83 Linux /dev/sda11 77000000 85389311 4194656 83 Linux /dev/sda12 85400000 127342591 20971296 83 Linux Command (m for help): n Partition type: p primary (2 primary, 1 extended, 1 free) l logical (numbered from 5) Select (default p): p Segmentation fault (core dumped) -------- END EXAMPLE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Segfault logged as follows: fdisk[415]: segfault at 0 ip b76173d4 sp bfa56230 error 4 in libc-2.17.so[b75d0000+1a9000] |

Btw, sorry about mis-formatting the "summary" line. Is it possible to edit that?
