Packages that (directly or not) depend on libcups will fail to start

Example:
codeblocks: error while loading shared libraries: libpng15.so.15: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Looks good, check if you have something installed from sources. In particular for codeblocks, dep on libpng is due wxgtk (file=libpng16.so.16 [0]; needed by /usr/lib/libwx_gtk2u_core-2.8.so.0 [0])

Execute with LD_DEBUG=files codeblocks
