Since qtchooser 26-4, you can use ~/.config/qtchooser/default.conf to set your system qt environment.
e.g. ln -s /etc/xdg/qtchooser/4.conf ~/.config/qtchooser/default.conf

Or do you prefer /etc/xdg/qtchooser/default.conf to be backed up on upgrade?

I have tried that (~/.config/qtchooser) and somehow it doesn't work.
And yes, I want to set it system wide.

Be sure to use qtchooser 26-4.

Yes, per-user setting is working now. But since default.conf is only a suggested file for the alternative system, I think it is better to put it in backups.
