DetailsDescription:
A nice feature of KDE4 is the ability to show thumbnails on folders containing images or video files. Since KDE4 4.10.1 when using the ffmpegthumbs backend they are no longer generated. Video files themselves generate thumbnails fine with the ffmpegthumbs backend still work fine. The solution is to switch to the mplayerthumbs backend instead. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs 4.10.3 kdemultimedia-ffmpegthumbs 4.10.3 Steps to reproduce: 1. Install kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs & kdemultimedia-ffmpegthumbs 2. Turn on previews in Dolphin (remember to turn for both video and folder) 3. Choose backend ffmpegthumbs 4. Look at a directory containing video files to see if the folder icon gets updated with previews 5. See http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?58927-Video-thumbnail-not-displayed-on-directory-icon for more details |

Made a new account and using the ffmpegthumbs there works so the issue is in part somewhere in my old account but I don't know where to look. Any ideas? But with the new account generating thumbnails on the folders is different that in my old account. For some reason it only put thumbnails for video files less than 5 MB approx. on the folders. Folders that contain video files larger than that generate no previews at all. I tried both backends on the new account and the result is the same. Thumbnails on folders containing video files are only generated if the folder contains video files smaller than 5 MB for some reason. I don't understand why it does that now with a brand new aacount. I've set everything regarding previews in dolphin as in my old account...
