Description:
Hardware acceleration is not possible in XMBC as the package is looking for vdpau-video as dependency. This is not available in any repository including AUR. Currently libvdpau and libva-vdpau-driver are available in the extra repo, but don't seem to satisfy this dependency.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
xbmc 12.2-1
libva-vdpau-driver 0.7.4-1
libvdpau 0.6-1
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:
Install libvdpau libva-vdpau-driver
Install xbmc
See pacman output regarding dependencies.

I originally reported this because I was instructed to do so from the arch forums. When I began this bug report I had poor hd video from xbmc and the options for hardware acceleration were not available within xbmc. I tried reinstalling and noticed the unmet optional dependency reported from pacman. I have been busy with school, so I havent touched xbmc until today after I did a system upgrade (pacman -Syu). Now xbmc has the hw acceleration options and video is fine. What is strange to me is that none of the packages involved appear to have been modified between now and then. I have no idea what changed to make this work, but now it does.

This still needs to be fixed: xbmc optdepends on two non-existant packages: vdpau-video and xvba-video
