Description:
I have KDE and few days ago (7th may) i have updated kdelibs (4.10.2-3 -> 4.10.2-4) and kdebase-workspace (4.10.2-1 -> 4.10.2-2). Since then, even after upgrade to KDE 4.10.3, i have problems with activities. They crash every time i switch to another activity. Downgrading solves the problem.
On KDE forums suggested that it has to be a packaging problem (Arch issue) (see http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=111111&p=264652#p264652).

What i have try:
-creating new user
-clearing cache
-removing .kde4 folder

Additional info:
Output from kactivitymanagerd

Steps to reproduce:
Switch to another activity. Always reproducible.

No crash here. I'd suggest you look into installed AUR packages that need rebuilding.

I have removed all AUR packages and the problem still persist. I have tried with fresh .kde4 folder without sucess.

I experienced the same problem. I built debug versions of qt4 and kactitivies to try to get a useful trace. When I install the debug build of qt4, the problem goes away (with either the release or debug build of kactivities). The qt4 debug was built with strip turned off and debug turned on in makepkg.conf, and with the -developer-build flag passed to configure in PKGBUILD.

KCrash listing using release build of qt4 and debug build of kactivities is attached. (The crash occurs in Thread 3.) KCrash says it "may be useful" - I hope he's right.

Do you have KDE 4.10.2-2 or 4.10.3-1?
Comment by Howard Coleman (Anatin) - Friday, 10 May 2013, 13:52 GMT
When I first saw the problem, I had 4.10.2-2. The problem continued after the upgrade to 4.10.3-1, and that's the version the debug listing was generated for.

Then it looks like it could be problem in qt4?
Comment by Howard Coleman (Anatin) - Friday, 10 May 2013, 14:24 GMT
Yeah, the fact that the problem doesn't show up for a debug build of qt4 suggests to me that there might be a configuration issue somewhere in qt4. I'd have to understand qt a lot better than I do now (which is not at all) before I could make a guess about what the code problem is.

Looks the same to me. On the forums at https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1270#p1270640, Seth also suggests a connection to  bug 35159  (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35159). I'm going to try out his test app.

Hey, this package of qt4-4.8.4-18 in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35159 resolves my issue. Problem solved.
