I think it's a dbus issue

/var/log/kdm.log
[]klauncher(267) kdemain: No DBUS session-bus found. Check if you have started the DBUS server.
kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
kdmgreet(245)/kdecore (K*TimeZone*): KSystemTimeZones: ktimezoned initialize() D-Bus call failed: "Not connected to D-Bus server"[]

Sometimes when I shutdown or logout, plasma crashes.

Try wiping /var/tmp/kde*

It probably has to do something with time zones

kcmshell(19017): Cannot open "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe"

I managed to fix it by changing the Time Zone through command prompt.
