Detailsis it possible to configure dmix at alsa installation ?
without it several apps don't run fine thanks for this distro |

cause it didn't get the question, you want us to configure your hardware mixing or something ?
it's the same if a video player window is open and then try listen music with xmms or others : no sound for the last one.
the configuration of dmix is a problem for me.
a good dmix configuration is a nice solution for me.
there was a bash script in french forum that install alsa and configure dmix but it doesn't run anymore on my laptop.

i hope i've been more clear this time :)
i know this is not a big problem but there are many people (like me..) who fail and are affraid by the config of dmix :)
in general - since alsa-lib 1.0.9 (and kernel-2.6.13 for drivers) it automagically "dmixes" all alsa-using applications - no need to configure dmix manually (in "normal" cases).
for the game unreal tournament i need to use the suspend sound option in kde center and set it to one second for the sound of the game works
between my first message and this one there was an alsa update, now everything work correctly, thank you
