DetailsDescription: Emacs opens with an humongous window size (cf bug
[Note: This is the first time I report a bug, and I don't know how to add my report to the above mentioned bug instead of opening a new bug item] I just upgraded my ArchLinux installation, and now Emacs opens up with a buggy behavior I had never seen before (in 40 years!). The Emacs windows (called from OpenBox or from an Xterm) with something like emacs -fn 8x13 -g 81x79 opens with (as reported in Additional info: * package version(s) emacs 24.3.1 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: I investigated a bit, and, when trying to resize this "infinite window", the little text box with which X reports the current size reports the desired size (as in the above -g option), but in PIXELS rather than characters, that is, as something like 680x1027. However, that number must be interpreted (by X, Emacs, or the window manager---I don't know) as if it were CHARACTERS, because one gets a window of 680x1027 characters! If I use key F11 to execute the toggle-fullscreen command, I toggle between a correctly-sized full screen and this humongous "regular size" window. [Please let me know how I should have reported my observations within |
