DetailsDescription:
vlc's "My Computer/My Music/etc." shortcuts don't work without ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs present, instead giving you a view of your home directory. .config/user-dirs.dirs is created and maintained by xdg-user-dir, yet this is not listed as an optional dependency for vlc. It wouldn't be a horrible idea for vlc to have intelligent defaults here, seeing as 90% of distributions have the same default values for these directories, but I suppose that's up to the upstream maintainer. Suggested fix for now is to add somthing like this to the optional dependencies of vlc: xdg-user-dir: to create or edit vlc's "My Music/Videos/Pictures" shortcuts Additional info: version 2.0.6-1 Steps to reproduce: delete ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs, run vlc, and click on the links under "My Computer". |
