This is only a problem with the default configuration in /etc/minbif/minbif.conf.

I understand that this is unexpected, but users are expected to configure applications themselves, without having any guarantee that the default configuration will work for them.

Assigning as a feature request.

The default configuration should definitely *work*, as to not alienate the user, and provide sane defaults from which the user can part, or not, depending on his particular needs.

If you insist, at least make sure to pop a message in post_install about it.

Even though Arch Linux often prioritizes to provide exactly what upstream provides, unlike ie. the sensible defaults of Debian, I have to say I fully agree with you there.

You'd think upstream would provide a default config that doesn't prevent their program from working. If they don't, we should open a ticket with them. However, if the issue with the default config is specific to Arch, the package maintainer should either try to fix it, or hint the user at it. Installing something and finding it doesn't work for no apparent reason is just frustrating.

Agree.

Works perfectly fine here. minbif must be run as user "minbif" (`systemctl start minbif.service` does this automatically).
