Hi
now non hal stuff is completly ignored, like custom fstab entries, this is really bad,
normal hd entries are also affected.
JGC i hope you know how to fix that.

This is KDE design, once they load hal, they are convinced hal is the solution for everything. fstabbackend is disabled completely, except for network volumes.
I have to dive into the code again to enable fstabbackend completely again. On archlinux, hal has no access to any non-removable device. This is the same for Ubuntu and Debian, who also run hal with its own user.
