Description:
I have an archlinuxfr repo enabled where one can find recent version of package-query which is supposed to work with recent pacman. However:

[root@linux mk]# pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
multilib is up to date
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
archlinuxfr is up to date
:: The following packages should be upgraded first :
pacman
:: Do you want to cancel the current operation
:: and upgrade these packages now? [Y/n] Y

resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: package-query: requires pacman<4.1

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

It is also impossible to update via pacman -S pacman. Although, pacman -S package-query solves all conflicts.

Wouldn't it be possible to resolve it automatically?

If you had selected "No" at the "upgrade these packages now" prompt, all packages would be updated at the same time and thus there would be no conflict.

Since SyncFirst has been removed in Pacman 4.1, this situation won't happen again.

Also note that we don't support packages outside of our repos.
