DetailsThis is the current output of make --version:
GNU Make 3.82 Built for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu Copyright (C) 2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc. License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later <http://gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html> This is free software: you are free to change and redistribute it. There is NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law. The "unknown" part has always struck me as odd. Here's how to fix it. Add this to configure: --build="$CARCH-arch-linux-gnu" Now make --version looks like this instead: GNU Make 3.82 Built for x86_64-arch-linux-gnu [...] Much nicer! It should also be possible to just say --build="Arch Linux", but it's unclear if that would have any ramifications elsewhere, if the version string is used by another script or application. Thanks. |
