Description:

Would it be possible to add an updates symlink just like the extramodules one? (see attached patch, untested though) This way I wouldn't have to recompile my modules on every minor kernel update (a recompilation shouldn't be necessary in this case). I think many AUR packages would benefit from this symlink. Moreover this would increase the awareness that such a overriding feature actually exists.

I thought of adding them in extramodules, but this was approach was discouraged in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32671#comment102650

There is no need for something like this, you can use depmod.d files for this.
