I have 64bits archlinux with openbox and lxde, and my locale is Spanish. I've noticed that 'sometimes' file-roller closes when navigating into a compressed or iso file. The error in the terminal is

Gtk:ERROR:gtkrbtree.c:914:_gtk_rbtree_node_find_offset: assertion failed: (node)
[1] 2940 abort (core dumped) file-roller

Downgrading to file-roller 3.4 seems to solve the problem.

I've just update gnome to 3.8 but this bug is still present. For example

# pacman -Q file-roller
file-roller 3.8.1-1

# file-roller evince-3.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz :(
**
Gtk:ERROR:gtkrbtree.c:914:_gtk_rbtree_node_find_offset: assertion failed: (node)
[1] 1132 abort (core dumped) file-roller evince-3.8.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

Can't reproduce your bug. What gtk3 theme do you use?

Radiance. I've tested with some others (Ambiance, Adwaita, Clearlooks, Redmond) but the problem persists.

Looks identical, gtk3 bug. Guess the trigger in file-roller is a timing issue.
