Description:
An upgrade to kernel 3.8 breaks intel ironlake powersavings on HP G62

I have attached the dmesg trace to this bug report.

Upgrade to linux kernel 3.8 and try to enable intel ironlake powersavings.

I think this is a general issue not specific to ironlake nor HP machines but a wide number of other models like mine (old Dell XPS M1330) and some other guys' on Archlinux user forum including Sony Vaio laptops. I rolled back to 3.7 kernel and ensured the issue is not present in that version.

Upgrade to Linux 3.8.10-1 doesn't fix the problem.

Problem is fixed in kernel upgrade to 3.9
