Simple script to show a (dialog) list of (i386) keymaps and load it with loadkeys. One could add it to login somewhat like this:

d=/tmp/user_keymap # to only start it once
[[ ! -e $d ]] && [[ $- == *i* ]] && [[ $(tty -s) -eq 0 ]] && ~/lkmenu

Short blah:
With auto login and a keymap menu, the user has to only know where the arrow-keys and enter is on an US layout. As opposed to find all keys needed to type their (not auto-completed) keymap.
   lkmenu (0.6 KiB)

If this is ever implemented, I propose that it should be possible to specify also the keymap from the kernel boot options.
