DetailsI'm not sure which upgrade caused this problem, however I only noticed it recently.
# systemd status rsyslog rsyslog.service - System Logging Service Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/rsyslog.service; enabled) Active: failed (Result: start-limit) since Tue 2013-03-19 01:16:37 EDT; 2min 56s ago Process: 406 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/rsyslogd -n (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) There is no pacsave or pacorig files either. As a workaround, I downloaded http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/r/rsyslog/rsyslog_7.2.6-1.debian.tar.gz and used the rsyslog.conf file included in there and rsyslog now starts. |
