Details

kde needs a rebuild against the new qt. I receivedt he following error while trying to build amaroK from svn.

checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
configure: error:
you need to install kdelibs first.

If you did install kdelibs, then the Qt version that is picked up by
this configure is not the same version you used to compile kdelibs.
The Qt Plugin installed by kdelibs is *ONLY* loadable if it is the
_same Qt version_, compiled with the _same compiler_ and the same Qt
configuration settings.

i don't get this error here with kde3.5, amarok builds fine

Well, I am sure that is because your KDE 3.5 kdelibs was built against the new qt, while I get the error because I am running a kde built against an older qt. I solved the problem by using srcpac to rebuild kdelibs. My point really is that if the new qt is going to get moved to current soon, then the existing kdelibs needs a rebuild. If qt is not going to be moved until 3.5 is in current, then it is a non-issue.

no not really, kth5 managed to compile new koffice with no problem at all with old kdelibs.

i compiled koffice both against 3.4.3-1 as well as against tpowa's 3.4.92-1 alias 3.5beta2. both worked ok, yes.
