Details

There is a data loss bug in btrfs related to updating sparse files (from what I have read scrubs/etc can trigger it as well as normal writes).

More information can be found at these links, including the fact that this is patched in Linux 3.8 and that this is the patch which fixes the problem.

3.8 is already in testing repository no need to patch the other kernels.
