Description:
Mesa 9.1 seems to make desktop effects some cases slow, some effects (like desktop grid, cover switch) do not update the screen at all in OpenGL mode. OpenGL ES just shows garbage on the screen. I can't say if this is a regression in mesa or kwin is incompatible with 9.1. I'll report this upstream.
I also noticed that this only happens with OpenGL 2 shaders used.
for me, kwin_gles with new Mesa (9.1) working. I have only problem with display swithing which cause broken screen and heavy cpu load for kwin_gles process.

Don't know if this bug is in Mesa or KDE, but maybe we would to inform KDE about that.
This should be backported to the 9.1 branch soon.
