Technically, libgnome-keyring and libsecret utilize a secrets api provided by a keyring daemon like gnome-keyring or KDE's ksecretservice. If you use evolution (or networkmanager,
FS#30883) in a non-gnome environment you should be free to choose which secrets storage you will use.
