Ever since operation libtool-slay certain packages (krusader, ktorrent) will not compile anymore. Compilation exits with the error:

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libfam.la'

I've managed to track this problem down to the kde packages, which reference libfam.la. As far as I understand, this means that the next release of kde should be built against a fam package that does not include libfam.la

Sorry I forgot to add that the problem is present both for the current 3.4.3 packages the packages from and tpowa's [kde-3.5-branch] repo.

AFAIK, this problem occured when fam/gamin was libtool slayed. Later it was undone and those errors disappeared. Thus it means, that you don't have either latest fam or gamin package (gamin's still in testing, maybe you installed the slayed package and disabled testing repo afterwards).

That was it. I had an old gamin package from testing that was not replaced when I went back to current and did a pacman -Syu. I hadn't considered the possiblity that libfam.la _should_ be in fam/gamin. Sorry for reporting a bogus bug and thanks for the help!

[Bug can be closed as far as I am concerned]
