FYI: performous-git from the AUR works without problems

I can confirm this bug. High pitch and noise appear with following versions of ffmpeg:
ffmpeg-1:1.1.3-1
ffmpeg-1:1.2-1

Downgrading to ffmpeg-1:1.0-2 resolves the problem. Due to so-name bumb I also needed to downgrade to:
performous-0.7.0-3
x264-20121113-1

I can't try performous-git due to error while linking.

I finally found time to do a "reverse bisect" on the git repo and backport the patch.

Please test performous-0.7.0-7, it should fix the issue.
