Description:

When running module-loopback (for listening into Line In or a Microphone for example) the sound is only in Mono whereas Line In is Stereo.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

I fixed this by installing pulseaudio-git from the AUR, so I'm thinking there may already be a upstream fix, but I can not confirm.

Log files didn't show anything out of the ordinary.

Steps to reproduce:

$ pactl load-module module-loopback

Then I used pavucontrol to unlock the left channel to try getting sound out of the right

Had exactly the same problem (routing S-video and stereo sound over line-in from a set-top box), works if you load it manually specifying source and sink:

load-module module-loopback source=alsa_input.pci-0000_00_0f.1.analog-stereo sink=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_0f.1.iec958-stereo

(list sources using pactl list | grep -A2 'Source #' | grep 'Name: ' | cut -d" " -f2 and sinks with pactl list | grep -A2 'Sink #' | grep 'Name: ' | cut -d" " -f2)

Pumbed to this problem in the case of routing jack to pulseaudio:

pactl load-module module-loopback channels=2

worked..
