Detailssshguard does not have a configuration file. It only accepts command line options for its configuration.
When adding options to SSHGUARD_ARGS, they are ignored. This is with sshguard 1.5-10 in an up to date system. |

Copy .service into /etc/systemd/.. and edit it.
