Many of the packages on CRAN require "libRmath.so" (or "libRmath.a" during compile time), which is built in a subdirectory of the R source tree. For some reason, the toplevel Makefile for R does not build this by default, so it does not appear in the Arch Linux package. Instructions for building and installing this library can be found here: http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-admin.html#The-standalone-Rmath-library I don't know if anyone else might have a use for the static library, but for my purposes I expect "make shared" would be sufficient. |
