Whenever I compare bittorrent speeds on my machine of live linux cd's and archlinux, the live linuxes are way faster. In arch, I have less peers, and less speed. Arch takes ages, the others do it in an hour. I have no additional firewalls but one external. Please read http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=16030&highlight= - we users have no idea where to put our hands on.

I don't think this is an Arch-specific problem. I sometimes use BitTorrent and it downloads at speeds ranging anywhere from 10 K/s to 200 K/s, depending on my peers.
