DetailsI think saned should not be run as root in sane.xinetd and saned.service since we already have scanner group privileges. These should be sufficient to access a scanner as the sane udev rules add any known scanner device to the scanner group with mode 664.
At least for me sane works perfectly as user "nobody" and group "scanner". |
