VLC seems to be 'partially' broken now, seemingly after I upgraded to gnome 2.12 ...

1) When firing up VLC, there is no GUI; it goes into commandline mode only, even if forced to use the GTK gui. Still works, however ...

2) So, I figured I'd try to 'makepkg' it and noticed two issues:

(odd, since that is an an avaiable option)

I modified the PKGBUILD and added '--disable-smb' to the ./configure line and it compiled fine,
but I STILL don't get the GUI ... wonder if it has something to do with GTK ?
