DetailsDescription:
I updated from mysql-5.5.29-1 to mysql-5.5.30-1 and couldn't start the mysql server any more. since the script /etc/rc.d/mysqld is missing. (Just starting the daemon via mysqld fails as well due to a security warning not to start it as root.) Downgrading to the mysql-5.5.29-1 fixed the problem. I don't know whether there is a change in the way the server is supposed to be started or whether this is a bug though ... Additional info: achrlinux 64 bit Steps to reproduce: upgrade mysql-5.5.29-1 to mysql-5.5.30-1 /etc/rc.d/mysqld start |
