3.8? It's been released under ArchLinux. This bug is still in 3.7.x because one or two days ago appened again updating from 3.7.9-1 to 3.7.9-2 .

Well, sometimes whe I poweroff or reboot the Linux box I got a kernel panic. I should report to the kernel developers but I'm really tired in the 2013 with the kernel 3.10.3 still kernel panic on a simple poweroff/reboot.
This bug in not related to the archlinux update or reboot. It's a reboot/poweroff Linux kernel bug.
