DetailsDescription:
So randomly after a few versions ago of xf86-video-intel, I don't remember exactly when due to the randomness, suspend resume started to crash Xorg on resume. The onboard nvidia is disabled in firmware and so only the intel card is being used. What is also strange is that, after the crash of Xorg the machine no longer will go into suspend and when I shut down the machine it then goes into hibinate however when I take it up it will show a kernel trace and then continue with the shutdown process. Additional info: * package version(s) ┌─[edward]0[dexter][~] └──╼ pacman -Q xf86-video-intel linux xorg-server xf86-video-intel 2.20.19-1 linux 3.7.4-1 xorg-server 1.13.2-1 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: No idea, I believe video playing before suspend can proke it more oftern however I have no proof of this. Cheers, Edward. |

There is an extensive thread discussing it here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=144381
The solution was to apply this patch using abs.
Andreas, could you please repackage xf86-input-synaptics to include it? (Or better yet, move us to 1.6.3 in testing since it has been already released)
