The libreoffice is currently compiled without support for libvisio.
Enabling should enable opening .vsd files.

Is it possible to enable it, I guess it should just be to change the configure setting
--without-system-libvisio
to
--with-system-libvisio
This task depends upon

That support is enabled using the upstream internal sources. So it should work out of the box.

Check our PKGBUILD: https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/libreoffice

Then maybe it is a bug?
I can not open a .vsd file.
I get a msg:
General Error.
General input/output error.

I have a vm with win7 and libreoffice 3.6.4.3 installed and the same file opens with no problem there.

I guess your file is in a newly not yet supported viso format saved. You may try to open it with LibO 4.0 or save it to an older visio version.

I don't use Win at all or visio. So I can't test it.

Is it not strange that it works for the same libreoffice version in windows and not in archlinux?

In Archlinux I have version 3.6.4.3 and in windows I have the same 3.6.4.3
And opening the .vsd file works in windows but not in archlinux.

Sadly I can not share the .vsd file.

Support for visio should be much better in libreoffice 4.0 so maybe it works better then...

I got it working, I installed all dependencies for building the package, and then it started to work, so it is probably one of the optdepends that enable viewing visio files.

It would be nice if you could confirm if one of the optdependencies was missing or if a makedependency should be an additional dependency.

It does not work unless I have the pkg:
'libwpg: library for importing and converting Corel WordPerfect(tm) Graphics images'

Libwpg is already an optional dep of libreoffice-writer. Does any other part need it? Maybe we should add "and for MS visual import" to the dep comment.
