DetailsDescription:
According to the comment in the vanilla upstream configuration file "MatchDevicePath" should be uncommented by default on Linux platforms, see [1]. You'll find further details on that, here [2]. Basically on Linux systems this should be default, however due to the fact that xf86-input-synaptics also supports other platforms it can't be made the default option. To quote the blog entry from a developer of xf86-input-synaptics: //Once you've added that line (or poked your distro maintainer to do it for you), the errors will go away.// Personally I'm not affected by this errors, however the line doesn't seem to do any harm. As we are patching the configuration file now anyways, we could as well implement this. Additional info: * package version(s): 1.6.2-3 [1] http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-input-synaptics/tree/conf/50-synaptics.conf?id=xf86-input-synaptics-1.6.2 [2] http://who-t.blogspot.de/2010/11/how-to-ignore-configuration-errors.html |
