DetailsI installed zsh (4.2.5). It is my loginshell.
When I log in I get an error complaining about line 29 in zprofile. zsh trys to load profiles from /etc/profile.d but this directory is empty. deleeting the lines 29-33 solves this problem. |

It will save you trouble when installing /opt stuff.
What I did when reinstalling one of my box, I created a dummy.sh, so the thing wouldn't fail.
Maybe that should be included in the main package... It is always failing until one installs /opt stuff like OOo, gnome, kde, mozilla or something where a /etc/profile.d/entryl.sh is installed.
Or fix the /etc/profile to check whether the dir is empty or not... I will have a look at it when I'm off from work. (Ssshhh! :-P)
HTH
for profile in /etc/profile.d/*.sh; do
if [ -x $profile ]; then
. $profile
fi
done
unset profile
fi
This will get rid of the warning message if the directory is empty.
It's annoying if one wants to have an dedicated server. The only thing I have in my /etc/profile.d/ on my server is the dummy.sh. :-P
Desktop machines will probably don't see this problem persistent, because Xorg brings two entries, and firefox/seamonkey brings one as well.
