Does this happen in the lts kernel? or 3.6.9?
Comment by asy (asypost) - Sunday, 23 December 2012, 14:44 GMT
@Jason Russell:Yes,the 3.6.9 has the same problem. Now I'm using 3.6.10,the problem still exists. What can I do to get log outputs when it happens again?

random crashes can be caused by faulty hardware ( ram, excessive heat on vga cards, CPU ), please check the temperature and ram ( with memtest )
Comment by asy (asypost) - Monday, 24 December 2012, 15:38 GMT
I have passed the memtest86+ on my laptop, and there is no excessive heat on vga cards or CPU.

I had this issue happen to me also with a fresh installed using the 2012.12.01 image running kernel 3.6.8
A highly probable cause would be your Xorg-server and/or graphics driver. For me, I reverted back to Xorg-server 1.12.4 which is more stable than current 1.13.1
If that doesn't work then revert your graphics driver to xf86-video-ati 1:6.14.6-2
Kernel 3.6.10 should be stable enough to not have cause this issue but if you still have problems then try linux-lts or build a stable custom kernel 3.4.24 or bleeding edge from testing 3.7.1 to see if it's fixed there.

Please use forum for things like this (help to research). There is no bug here (no specific component identified), there is nothing to do with packaging. When you have identified the issue, please report to upstream.
