DetailsDescription:
As per summary, I get low color depth (~16bpp) on my Macbook Pro 2012, with integrated Intel HD 4000 VGA device. Xorg log file reports 24bpp, but it's clearly wrong as I can see infamous color banding I tried searching for it, but I couldn't find much. Looks like it's related to EFI, someone suggested as a workaround to boot via grub-bios. Additional info: Kernel: Linux Nigoki 3.6.10-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 11 09:40:17 CET 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux intel-dri 9.0.1-1 xf86-video-intel 2.20.15-1 content of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "sna" EndSection Xorg.log: [ 566.401] This is a pre-release version of the X server from The X.Org Foundation.
