DetailsDescription:
The systemd unit for proftpd lists /run/proftpd/proftpd.pid as the PID file to use. However, the default configuration installed with proftpd does not contain a "PidFile ..." entry, and proftpd's default is not to write a PID file at all: see http://www.proftpd.org/docs/directives/linked/config_ref_PidFile.html As a result systemd complains when proftpd is started without such an entry: Dez 13 09:39:37 chai-latte systemd[1]: PID file /run/proftpd/proftpd.pid not readable (yet?) after start. Additional info: * proftpd 1.3.4b-3, systemd 196-2 * default configuration files for proftpd and its systemd unit Steps to reproduce: Install proftpd. Do not modify any configuration file. Start it via systemd and look at journalctl. |
