When I try to start prosody 0.8.2-6 it just fails with errors. See the attached log.

The problem happens with prosody 0.8.2-6, lua 5.2.1-3, and luafilesystem 1.6.2-1.

Everything works when I downgrade to the following packages: prosody 0.8.2-5, lua 5.1.5-2, and luafilesystem 1.5.0-2.

The latest versions of optional dependencies seem to have problems with that downgraded setup. The lua 5.1 versions of those should work just fine.

version 0.8.2 doesn't support lua 5.2. But it's already patched upstream and should be available in 0.9. I'm don't know what the maintainer want to do. There is no hurry to move to lua 5.2, so prosody will depends to lua51.

should be fixed in 0.8.2-8. Can you check?

Yes, it is working fine with 0.8.2-8.

Thank you for the prompt action.

It's starting for me as well. Thanks!

This is not fixed correctly yet. If I just install prosody 0.8.2-8 and it's dependencies, prosody won't start. I also have to install lua-socket (prosody only depends on lua51-socket).

This bug is clearly related to and depends on bug  FS#33073 .

Can you confirm good behaviour with updated version of lua51-socket to at least 2.0.2-4?

lua51-socket 2.0.2-4 works with prosody 0.8.2-8. I don't have lua-socket installed (which isn't depended by prosody). I'd call this fixed.
