Details

Add /usr/bin/opera to the backup array so one can edit it to export environment variables and add command-line options.

As you already posted related wiki page, you can export such environment variables using /etc/profile.
If you want to pass additional switches, just put modified wrapper (or own script) somewhere in $PATH before /usr/bin.
