DetailsThe fonts are installed to /usr/share/fonts/cantarell but the X server searches for OT files in /usr/share/fonts/OTF, as you can see in the logs and in xorg.conf(5). This is mostly cosmetic as most window managers, DEs and graphical applications link to fontconfig, but the X server itself doesn't.
