Detailssystemd is unable to start mariadb because the directory /var/run/mysqld isn't packaged.
I was able to make it work by doing "# mkdir /var/run/mysqld && chown -R mysql:mysql /var/run/mysqld". |
This task depends upon

It isn't possible to package this because /var/run is a symlink to /run, which is on tmpfs. The bug you wanted to report here is that the install scriptlet should be calling 'systemd-tmpfiles --create mysql.conf' on post_install/post_upgrade.
