Details

Description:
After updating to filesystem 2012.11-1 there is no longer a /media directory.
pmount needs /media directory to mount.

Steps to reproduce:

$ pmount /dev/sdb1
Error: could not create directory: No such file or directory

I'm not sure if upstream will do anything about it. Additionally Debian isn't eager to get rid of /media directory.

Therefore I would like to drop the package to [unsupported]. Is there anyone against?

Could you suggest viable alternatives for those who don't run a DE?

Do you mean DE or graphical environment? I'm daily Openbox user and I'm using udevil which provides quite clever automounting daemon called
devmon.
I think it will be sufficient if you aren't the enemy of automation. It should work both with and without DE/WM.
