DetailsAfter archlinux moved to 2.6.13 kernel, ipw2200 does not work. I also encountered this problem when using archck5. Even when trying ipw2200 with ipithus's patch for ipw2200 (http://iphitus.loudas.com/arch/ck/patches/ipw2200-fix.diff), ipw2200 does not work. It compiles, and upon running "iwlist" shows the correct access points, but no data can be transferred. dhcp times out when trying to access the wireless interface. See http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=15348&highlight=ipw2200+dhcpcd
for a related posting. I found a workaround, see http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=15588 Basically you must upgrade ieee80211, wireless_tools and ipw2200 to the very latest versions. The way I see it using ipw2200 is kind of a catch-22. Archlinux would seem to need to use versions that are not the stable version, but I think that for ipw2200 users who want to use 2.6.13, this is their only option? |
