DetailsDescription:
I didn't upgrade virtualbox for a while. After upgrading, I found that the vnc support of virtualbox has gone away. It seems like a bug because I checked the PKGBUILD and it said that virtualbox should be compiled with '--enable-vnc'. $ vboxheadless -h Oracle VM VirtualBox Headless Interface 4.2.4_OSE (C) 2008-2012 Oracle Corporation All rights reserved. VBoxHeadless: error: --height: RTGetOpt: Command line option needs argument. Usage: -s, -startvm, --startvm <name|uuid> Start given VM (required argument) -v, -vrde, --vrde on|off|config Enable (default) or disable the VRDE server or don't change the setting -e, -vrdeproperty, --vrdeproperty <name=[value]> Set a VRDE property: "TCP/Ports" - comma-separated list of ports the VRDE server can bind to. Use a dash between two port numbers to specify a range "TCP/Address" - interface IP the VRDE server will bind to --settingspw <pw> Specify the settings password --settingspwfile <file> Specify a file containing the settings password -c, -capture, --capture Record the VM screen output to a file -w, --width Frame width when recording -h, --height Frame height when recording -r, --bitrate Recording bit rate when recording -f, --filename File name when recording. I tried virtualbox-ext-vnc and it works. But I found another bug in virtualbox-host-modules 4.2.6, which depends linux>=3.7 but installed in extramodules-3.6-ARCH/, and linux 3.7 is still in testing repo now. Would you like to fix it or Should I add a new ticket?
FS#33194and fixed now.Thanks.
Btw I found your answer by googling... there is a new syntax!
VBoxManage setproperty vrdeextpack VNC
VBoxManage modifyvm OpenSex --vrdeproperty VNCPassword=toto
VBoxManage modifyvm OpenSex --vrdeauthlibrary null
VBoxHeadless --startvm OpenSex
