Suspending and resuming an Arch VM under VMware Fusion 5 fails with the error The VMware Tools resume script did not run successfully in this virtual machine. If you have configured a custom resume script in this virtual machine, make sure that it contains no errors. You can also submit a support request to report this issue. This is caused by the inclusion of the script file /etc/vmware-tools/scripts/vmware/network.orig that is created as a by product of the PKGBUILD patching the /etc/vmware-tools/script/vmware/network file. The source of the problem is the poweron, poweroff, suspend, and resume scripts in /etc/vmware-tools try to run every file in the /etc/vmware-tools/scripts directory.
